This mission came from one of our ladies who’s daughter works with The Norfolk Street Choir which is made up of “People Experiencing Homelessness” in Chesapeake, VA.  With temperatures dipping well below freezing and shelters  full one of the members experienced frostbite on her fingers.  An ambulance was called by one of the workers, however, they would not transport her to the hospital stating “the frostbite was not bad enough”.  After hearing this Lydia Crafters did not hesitate.  They started sewing double fleece mittens for this special group in need even though they were not local.

In only four Wednesday nights they were able to send 78 mittens (39 pair) and 26 knit hats, purchased by Lydia Crafters, to Chesapeake for this precious group to help them make it through the long cold nights a little bit easier.
